Yes, the GOP Is Obstructing
ObamaCare Implementation

USA Today says in an editorial that the GOP ?poisons ObamaCare, then claims it?s sick.? Greg Sargent calls it ?sabotage.? Jonathan Chait says ?Conservatives Hate All Legislation Now.? Oh, those darn Republicans. Why can?t they just sit down, shut up, and go with the flow? Obamacare is the law of the land. What?s wrong with the GOP? There are several theories. Greg Sargent believes that ?today?s GOP has effectively abdicated the role of functional opposition party, instead opting for a kind of post-policy nihilism in which sabotaging the Obama agenda has become its only guiding governing

I heard a democrat on radio today demanding that Republicans "fix" Obamacare !!
This is the democrats? baby, they conceived it, they gave birth to it, now let them change the dirty diapers.
democrats were warned that this was a lousy Bill..too bad democrats didn?t bother to read it before they passed it.

Of course this is the narrative the DNC is pushing through its media co-conspirators, there is nothing they can do other than attempt to deny responsibility for this disaster.

The sites that I have examined do not mention the individual mandate and penalty for failure to buy insurance. Under the current system many who are eligible for government assistance under Medicaid don?t bother signing up until they need medical treatment. Until October the government has no clue how many will sign up for state exchanges or the federal exchanges when states don?t have one. The law says they can?t subsidize low income people on federally created exchanges but they plan to ignore the law and do so anyway. I still believe they delayed the employer mandate because the law doesn?t authorize them to penalize companies who don?t offer insurance unless there is a state created exchange. In short, this whole mess is ready for a collapse when they try to implement it. The Dems are content to let it collapse if they can only blame the GOP.

Obammycare is already dead. The choices left to the republicans are to do nothing and let it die a lingering death or put it out of its misery more quickly by denying funding. Either way, it?s dead. It was never workable and they can?t save it if they wanted to. For a system like that to work, you have to have many more payers than users. It will never happen with the current ratio of producers to parasites.

This is in my opinion a "Must Read." Very funny and well written.

Mr. Moran uses his rapier wit to slice and dice the idiocies of Sargeant, Chait and the whole cabal of leftwing "journalists" who serve every whim of their master, BO.

Republicans, however, make themselves easy prey:

they do not learn from tactical mistakes;

they remain far too passive, they don?t fight back with FACTS;

they don?t find ways to navigate around the MSM...

they even insult their natural allies, like TEA Partiers, in an effort to --what? placate their real enemies?...

they betray their real base, Conservatives, so they can appear ... broad-minded?

We are living in a era of unreason, a Nietzschean nihilism where power is the only thing that matters, and truth is an empty term (this is why you can redefine a word such as "marriage."

From the beginning the Republicans have just backed off, keeping away from this, with the conviction that it would never work. Now that their position is being proven correct, the Dems are throwing fits.

When a liberal/progressive is faced with reality and they are unable to provide a factual, logical argument to support their emotional point of view, they, well .. throw a fit. (Jars of urine, etc. in the Texas legislature). Blame anyone or anything else, but it certainly can?t be due any errors in their flawless logic.

Nominate for a Must Read.

#9 -- especially insightful comment.

The abortion debate in Texas has been clarifying. On one side we?ve seen people behave peacefully and respectfully, abide by the laws and the rules and sing hymns like ?Amazing Grace.? On the other side, we?ve seen threats, mob tactics and ?Hail Satan!? Do you #stand4life or do you #standwithwendy? In other words, for principle or media-inflated personality? Do you stand for ?safe, legal, and rare? abortions, or merely legal and unrestricted abortions? We?ve also seen Planned Parenthood lie through its teeth, and a couple of members of the the Texas media just called them out on it.

With the Senate hurtling toward a climatic showdown over its controversial filibuster rules, the deep personal animosity between Senate Majority Leader Harry M. McConnell said. ?It makes me sad.? Reid said McConnell could not be trusted to keep his word to move executive branch nominations through the Senate.

House Republicans narrowly passed a farm bill on Thursday that was stripped of hundreds of billions in funding for food stamps, abandoning four decades of precedent to gain the backing of conservative lawmakers. The 216 to 208 vote was a victory for a Republican caucus that has struggled to pass the most basic of legislation, but it also set up weeks of acrimony and uncertainty as House and Senate leaders must reconcile two vastly different visions for providing subsidies to farmers and feeding the hungry. The farm bill, which passed after hours of delay from irate Democrats

Jay Carney just smeared a majority of the American people, along with several Democrats, when he dodged a question about the Obama administration?s decision to delay the employer mandate by at least a year. Among the ?willfully ignorant? is Democrat Sen. Tom Harkin, quoted in the New York Times wondering how the Obama administration can unilaterally change a law passed by Congress. Joining Harking in ?willful ignorance? is Democrat Rep. John Barrow, who just wants to scrap the mandate entirely. The Affordable Care Act law, as passed, made no provision for the waivers

Toward the end of his closing statement on Thursday, Florida Assistant State Attorney Bernie de la Rionda posted a slide on a screen in a fifth-floor Seminole County courtroom. "Which Owner would be more inclined to yell for help?" read the banner on the top of the slide. The slide was divided in two. On the left was a photo of George Zimmerman?s Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm handgun, and on the right was a can of Arizona Watermelon Fruit Juice Cocktail. Beneath the photo of the gun was the question, "Who followed?"

Just when I thought the George Zimmerman "trial" couldn?t sink any lower, the prosecutorial limbo dancers of the State of Florida magnificently lowered their own bar in the final moments of their cable-news celebrity. In real justice systems, the state decides what crime has been committed and charges somebody with it. In the Zimmerman trial, the state?s "theory of the case" is that it has no theory of the case: might be murder, might be manslaughter, might be aggravated assault, might be a zillion other things, but it?s something.

Janet Napolitano, the U.S. secretary of Homeland Security and former governor of Arizona, is being named as the next president of the University of California system, in an unusual choice that brings a national-level politician to a position usually held by an academic, the Times has learned. Her appointment also means the 10-campus system will be headed by a woman for the first time in its 145-year history. Napolitano?s nomination by a committee of UC regents came after a secretive process that insiders said focused on her early as a high-profile, although untraditional, candidate who has led large public agencies

State Attorney Angela Corey fired her office?s information technology director Friday after he testified last month about being concerned prosecutors did not turn over information to George Zimmerman?s defense team in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. On the same day attorneys finished their closing arguments in that nationally watched trial, a state attorney investigator went to Ben Kruidbos? home about 7:30 a.m. to hand-deliver a letter stating Kruidbos ?can never again be trusted to step foot in this office.? AUSTIN ? After more than eight hours of debate, the plan to enact some of the nation?s most restrictive abortion regulations was approved 19-11 by the Texas Senate late Friday. Next: Gov. Rick Perry?s desk for his signature, which is expected soon. After that: a promised legal challenge from Democrats. The bill is about to become a law that will restrict abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy and put in place regulations so strict that only a handful of abortion clinics, including one in Fort Worth, likely will remain. The Texas abortion bill passed both houses of the state legislature by whopping majorities. It passed the House 98-49 and it passed the Senate 19-11. Those are large majorities by any definition. The modest bill bans abortions after 20 weeks and elevates standards at abortion clinics to be on par with standards at ambulatory surgical centers. But after the final vote in the Senate, President Obama chose to criticize the bipartisan majorities that passed the bill. On Friday, the prosecution in the case against George Zimmerman for the murder of Trayvon Martin rebutted the defense?s closing argument. The prosecution often appealed to emotion and asked the jurors to listen to their ?heart? when deliberating. The prosecution?s tactic may have worked. One Associated Press reporter tweeted that he saw one juror ?whipping away a tear? during the prosecution?s argument. ?Look into your hearts,? said prosecutor John Guy on multiple occasions during the last words in the argument phase of Zimmerman?s trial. Associated Press reporter Kyle Hightower was present in the courtroom for the arguments.
