Logbook Loans v/s Payday Loans: Get Comparison Details for Easy ...

Logbook loans and payday loans, both financial options are at great demand. There are several persons in UK who use these financial options to arrange cash in emergency. Procedure of both these cash options is quite different. Objective of this article is to make understand about these available cash options.

About Logbook Loans:

Logbook loans are a secured loan type where you will need to submit the logbook of your car as security against the loan amount. Logbook is legal document that contain the registration details of car as well as details of car like its color, model number, engine number etc. You will need to submit this document to the creditor and in return you can borrow vivid amount maximum of ?50,000 that mainly depends upon the value of your car. Good thing about these loans is that you will be free about the use of your car even during loan period.

About Payday Loans:

Payday loans are short term unsecured loans.

This cash option is designed to meet with instant financial requirement for short repayment period. Time required to repay the loan amount is from 15 days to 30 days or your coming payday whichever is near. You can borrow small cash via this option that is ?85 to ?750. These loans are available with simple eligibility requirement and a steady source of income is quite necessary for borrower.

Difference on basis of benefits:

? ?Payday loans get instant approval and free from any document verification whereas in logbook loans you will need to submit registration details of your car to the creditor.
? ?Payday loans are available for instant cash need of small amount whereas logbook loans can be used for any purpose and minimum borrowed via logbook loans depend upon the value of car.
? ?Logbook loans are free from credit check whereas some financial institutions require good credit for payday loans
? ?Logbook loans are available with extended repayment period whereas repayment period for payday loans is not more than 30 days.

Differences on the basis of pitfalls:

? ?Only car owners can get money via logbook loans but payday loans are available for every employed person
? ?You can lose your car if fails to repay the amount in time but in case of payday loans there is no any such possibilities
? ?Payday loans are available with strict repayment option but Logbook loans provide flexible repayment terms to the borrowers.

These are some basic differences between log book loans and payday loans. You can select any of these cash options depending upon your financial requirements and eligibility to borrow cash. It is recommended to compare available options for affordable cash arrangement options.

Rudy Giuliani: Mitt Romney?s record is great , just not compared to mine as NYC mayor

The two former enemies Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and former NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani break bread at Engine 24/Ladder 5 in Greenwich Village and bring pizza to the firehouse -- (Susan Watts/New York Daily News)

Susan Watts/New York Daily News/New York Daily News

Rudy Giuliani is now backing presidential contender Mitt Romney.

Rudy Giuliani?s ?personal ego? is already getting in the way as he campaigns for Mitt Romney.

New York City's former mayor said Sunday that Romney's record might not hold up against his own ? but it's still better than President Obama?s list of accomplishments.

Rudy Giuliani, a former presidential contender and a late-commer to the Romney camp, said the Massachusetts governor's economic record only looked paltry when compared to his own.

"Well, there's a certain amount of personal ego in that," Giuliani said Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union."

"Maybe it was circumstances or whatever, but I had massive reduction in unemployment. He had a reduction in unemployment of about 8, 10, I think it was 15%. I had a reaction of unemployment of 50%."

Giuliani said back in 2008, when he bashed Romney's job creation record as governor, it was only in comparison with what he himself had accomplished in New York City, he said.

"They had a growth of jobs of about 40,000. We had a growth of jobs of 500,000. So I was comparing what I thought was my far superior record to his otherwise decent second," Giuliani told.

"That's all part of campaigning, The simple fact is Romney has been far more successful in the things he has has done than Barack Obama," Giuliani said.

Five People in China Lead Better Lives After Receiving Organs from a Brain Dead Boy

Around five people in China are able to lead a better life after a woman donated the organs of her 11-year old son who was brain dead following a car accident.

Yuan Dezhen, a 40-year-old migrant working mother from Shenzhen, has been living in Guangzhou with her family of five since 2006.

Her husband and her youngest son -- 11-year-old Tian Gan -- were severely injured in a car accident in January. Her husband died and her son was declared brain-dead, relying on a respirator to sustain his life, Xinhua reported.

Yuan chose to take her son off life-support and donate his organs.

Her son's liver, pancreas and small intestine were given to a 53-year-old diabetic and liver cancer patient.

His kidneys were given to two women patients aged 38 and 68, while the corneas brought sight to another two patients.

Yuan also chose to donate her son's body as well, giving it to the Medical School of Shenzhen University for educational and research purposes.

Yuan said it pained her to see her son on a respirator. She slept just two or three hours a day while he was in the hospital, praying for a miracle and hoping that he might wake up.

"I felt that if his organs could save just one person, his life could be extended."

Statistics from the health ministry said that 1.5 million patients in China are in dire need of organ transplants each year, while only 10,000 end up receiving them.

Action and Value in Criminal Law von John Gardner, Stephen Shute ...

Kurzbeschreibung

This collection of essays on the theory of criminal law is by philosophers from the UK, USA and Canada. Ranging across such central issues as moral luck, mistake and mental illness, this book aims to reorientate the study of criminal law. Whilst retrieving valuable material in traditional law classifications, the contributors break down false associations, reveal hidden truths and establish new patterns of thought. Their conclusions should make for essential reading for scholars and advanced students of criminal law, legal and moral philosophy. Jeremy Horder is the author of "Provocation and Responsibility".

92% Headhunters

All Critics (78) | Top Critics (21) | Fresh (72) | Rotten (6)

'Headhunters" is a frighteningly well-made thriller about an amoral art thief on the run.

"Headhunters" is a bit like an Ikea desk assembled with your nondominant arm -- sleek and attractive, but likely to fall to pieces if you look at it too hard.

"Headhunters" will indeed hand you your head.

A cat-and-mouse game with the giddy excitement of a heist movie.

It's crisp entertainment even as plot absurdities gum up the works - you can almost hear the pages turn as you watch.

The scenes of graphic violence are drawn out to the point where they overwhelm the story.

Suspenseful, wickedly funny and clever, Headhunters offers more bang for your buck than most modern crime thrillers.

"Headhunters" isn't a pretty film, and it doesn't always entirely make sense, but it races along like a man chased by killers.

The good guy in the Norwegian "Headhunters" looks like a bad guy, and the bad guy looks like a good guy. And that's just one of the ways this dazzling movie messes with us.

HEADHUNTERS is an exhilarating thriller with great visual flare, top notch acting, and a story that will have you so involved that you'll possibly have no fingernails by the end of it!

Like a Teutonic techno band, this thriller is both skillfully familiar and chillingly strange.

...a sordid blast of delirious violence, brutal corporate satire, and male inadequacy.

This is one funny, gory, high-class crime thriller and my favorite Norwegian export since 'Troll Hunter.'

Do yourself a favor and see this one before some Yank director gets it all wrong.

Headhunters is a slick entertainment with well-orchestrated chases and bloody shootouts, though its characterizations are shallow and sketchy.

Despite the gaps in logic the movie...is cannily put together and easily holds your attention.

A brisk, violent tour of the dangerous parts of Norway.

Android A to Z: DLNA

DLNA

DLNA, or the Digital Living Network Alliance is an organization set up by Sony in 2003 that determines a universal set of rules and guidelines so devices can share digital media. The devices covered include computers, cameras, televisions, network storage devices, and of course cell phones. The guidelines are built from existing standards, but manufacturers have to pay to use them and have their device join the DLNA.

With DLNA devices, you can share video, music and pictures from a Digital Media Server (DMS) to your Android phone or tablet. A DMS could be your computer, a NAS (Network Attached Storage) device, a television or Blu-ray player, or even another Android device. Anything that has a DLNA server, or can have one installed will act as a DMS. Fun factoid: when a DLNA server is installed on a cell phone, tablet, or portable music player it's called a M-DMS -- the M stands for Mobile.

Once a DLNA server is in place, our Android phones usually have two functions -- to act as a Digital Media Player (M-DMP) or a Digital Media Controller (M-DMC). The player is easy enough to figure out, it finds content on a DLNA server and plays it back. A DMC will find content on a DLNA server, and push it to another connected player. For example, my television has a DLNA player, and my laptop has a server. With the right software, I could use my Android phone to find the content on my laptop and play it on my television. DLNA can really be fun if you have all the right equipment.

But chances are Android (and eventually other mobile devices) will be moving away from DLNA. With Ice Cream Sandwich, Wifi Direct is part of the operating system and has the potential to do everything DLNA can do, and more. We already have seen it replace DLNA streaming in the HTC One series with the Media Link HD receiver, which streams content from a Sense 4 device to a monitor with HDMI input. It uses native Wifi Direct, and by all accounts works really nicely. Or Samsung, who is using NFC to kick off a Wifi Direct session for fast data transfer on the Galaxy S III. We'll have to wait and see what manufacturers do with Wifi Direct, because having it built into the OS is a big plus -- even for a company like Samsung who makes millions of DLNA devices each year.

Missouri opts for untested drug for executions

Last week the Missouri Department of Corrections announced it was switching from its longstanding three-drug method to use of a single drug, propofol. Missouri would be the first state ever to use propofol as an execution drug.

"This is very, very concerning with a drug that we don't know, and seeing the problems of the one-drug method," said Kathleen Holmes of Missourians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty.

Until recently, the 33 states with the death penalty used a virtually identical three-drug process: Sodium thiopental was administered to put the inmate to sleep, then two other drugs stopped the heart and lungs. But makers of sodium thiopental have stopped selling it for use in executions. Supplies mostly ran out or expired, forcing states to consider alternatives.

Most states have retained the three-drug method but turned to pentobarbital as a replacement for sodium thiopental. Pentobarbital, a barbiturate used to treat anxiety and convulsive disorders such as epilepsy, has been used in roughly 50 executions over the past two years, said Richard Dieter, executive director of the Washington-based Death Penalty Information Center.

But its use may be short-lived as its maker also opposes selling it for use in executions. The statement announcing the change in Missouri said the decision was "due to the unavailability of sodium thiopental" but did not elaborate on why propofol was chosen. The protocol change was administrative and did not require legislative approval. The Corrections Department declined interview requests, but spokesman Chris Cline said Wednesday in a one-sentence statement, "Working with expert guidance, we are confident that this new one-drug protocol will be effective and appropriate."

It wasn't clear when propofol would get its first use in an execution. None are scheduled in Missouri despite Attorney General Chris Koster's request last week that the Missouri Supreme Court set execution dates for up to 19 condemned men whose appeals have run out.

Litigation over Missouri

Between 1989, when executions resumed in Missouri, and 2005, the state put to death 66 convicted killers. But in the seven years since, only two men have been executed ? Dennis Skillicorn in 2009 and Martin Link last year. Use of the death penalty has declined sharply in recent years nationwide. The U.S. had 98 executions in 1999 but just 43 last year. Nearly 3,200 people remain on death row.

Propofol, made by AstraZeneca and marketed as Diprivan, gained notoriety following Jackson

"Any drug used for a new purpose on human subjects should certainly be tested very, very carefully," Dieter said. "I can only imagine the things that might go wrong."

Adding to the concern, some say, is Missouri's written protocol which, like the one it replaced, does not require a physician to be part of the execution team. It states that a "physician, nurse, or pharmacist" prepares the chemicals, and a "physician, nurse or emergency medical technician ... inserts intravenous lines, monitors the prisoner, and supervises the injection of lethal chemicals by nonmedical members of the execution team."

Jonathan Groner, an Ohio State University surgeon who has studied lethal injection extensively, said propofol is typically administered by either an anesthesiologist, who is a physician, or a nurse anesthetist under the physician's direct supervision. Improper administration could cause a burning sensation or pain at the injection site, he said.

Groner said high doses of propofol will kill by causing respiratory arrest. But the dosage must be accurate and the process must move swiftly because propofol typically wears off in just a few minutes.

"If they start breathing before the heart stops, they might not die," Groner said. That would force the process to be restarted.

Critics also question the safety of the single-drug method. Missouri becomes the third state with a single-drug protocol, along with Arizona and Ohio. Three others ? South Dakota, Idaho and Washington ? have options for single- or multiple-drug executions, according to the Death Penalty Information Center. California and Kentucky are exploring a switch to the one-drug method.

Concerns were raised after a one-drug execution last month in Arizona. Thomas Arnold Kemp, a 63-year-old convicted killer, shook for several seconds upon receiving a lethal dose of pentobarbital.

The debate over the administration of lethal drugs has angered some capital punishment advocates who suggest that death row inmates ? largely convicted killers ? seem to get more compassion than their victims.

Carol Angelbeck has spent years urging Missouri officials to pick up the pace on executions. Angelbeck's 24-year-old daughter, Mindy Griffin, was raped and strangled by Michael Worthington, who broke into her suburban St. Louis condo in 1995. Worthington is awaiting execution.

"If they can't find a drug they like, go to hanging," Angelbeck said. "Maybe they should feel some pain and others would think twice about killing someone."

US poised to vet possible arms for Syrian rebels

FILE - In this Saturday, April 28, 2012 file photo, the ship "Lutfallah II" believed to be carrying three containers of weapons, is docked at a Lebanese navy base, in Beirut, Lebanon. Struggling to obtain weapons, Syria's rebels appear to be shifting tactics to smaller-scale guerrilla tactics like roadside bombs and hit-and-run attacks as the regime chokes off the main smuggling routes into the country. AP interviews with security officials, rebels and arms dealers in neighboring countries indicate that individual units of anti-regime fighters scrape by haphazardly for weapons, with almost no central organization and little means to get arms heavier than automatic weapons and rocket-propelled grenades into the country. (AP) ? As one diplomatic effort after another fails to end more than a year of brutal violence in Syria, the Obama administration is preparing a plan that would essentially give U.S. nods of approval to arms transfers from Arab nations to some Syrian opposition fighters.

The effort, U.S. officials told The Associated Press, would vet members of the Free Syrian Army and other groups to determine whether they are suitable recipients of munitions to fight the Assad government and to ensure that weapons don't wind up in the hands of al-Qaida-linked terrorists or other extremist groups such as Hezbollah that could target Israel.

The plan, which has not yet been finalized, reflects U.S. frustration that none of the previous efforts ? including diplomatic rhetoric from the United Nations and the multinational Friends of Syria group, and special envoy Kofi Annan's plan for a cease-fire ? has even begun to nudge President Bashar al-Assad from power. The vetting would be the first tiny step the U.S. has made toward ensuring that the Syrian opposition uses the weapons to fight Assad and not to turn it into a full sectarian conflict.

The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the subject, stressed that the United States, which is already providing non-lethal aid to Syria's political opposition, is not supplying military assistance to Assad's foes.

The administration's position remains that adding more weapons to the conflict is a bad idea and will only fan the fire of instability.

"We don't think that adding fuel to this fire is the right way to go," State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said.

"Our decision is to support the civilian opposition in nonlethal ways," she said. "There are other countries who have made other decisions. That's their sovereign decision to make. We've made our decision."

But she added: "We are obviously consulting with various states about the decisions that we've made, that they've made."

Privately, officials say that as conditions continue to deteriorate, it would be irresponsible not to weigh in with Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and others such as Turkey that have indicated interest in arming the rebels.

By some accounts, those nations already have begun to ship weapons with tacit U.S. agreement. In Turkey, private businessmen have begun funneling weapons into Syria.

Libya's new rulers, fresh from their own revolution that toppled longtime dictator Moammar Gadhafi, have pledged support for the Syrian rebels, but actually transferring weapons is tricky. Last month, Lebanese authorities seized a ship carrying rocket-propelled grenades and heavy-caliber ammunition, possibly bound for Syrian rebels.

The fighters' attempts to bring in heavier arms that could change the course of the 15-month-old uprising so far have been stymied at every turn, even by countries sympathetic to the revolt. All are wary of being drawn into the fight

The rebels have cast a wide net, contacting weapons dealers in Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia and Azerbaijan.

Without some type of U.S. vetting as to who should receive such shipments, the Obama administration and some of its European allies fear that weapons might be used against Western interests.

While the "main" Syrian opposition is not aligned with al-Qaida, the chance that weapons might fall into the wrong hands in an unstable environment like Syria is "always a concern," said a senior intelligence official.

Al-Qaida has established a limited operational capability in Syria and is responsible for several attacks on Assad targets, the official said. He said analysts believe the goal is to "sow further chaos" and advance an extremist agenda.

The official would not comment on any military aid that might be given to the rebels by U.S. allies.

Yet he and others acknowledged the situation is growing more dire.

AP interviews with security officials, rebels and arms dealers in countries neighboring Syria indicate that individual rebel units have to scrounge for weapons. They have no central organization and no import routes for anything heavier than automatic weapons and rocket-propelled grenades.

It is into this mix that the U.S. may soon be inserting itself.

Washington's supplies of communications equipment and medical supplies to opposition members it has approved are already under way, Officials said that those supplies can now be easily augmented with weapons from other donors.

"Smuggling lines are smuggling lines. We use the same donkeys," said one, pointing out that the routes are essentially the same for bandages as they are for bullets.

Homestead Funding Discusses What Constitutes Closing Costs

Closing costs are separated into what are called non-recurring closing costs and pre-paid items. Non-recurring closing costs are any items which are paid just once as a result of buying the property or obtaining a loan. Examples of non-recurring closing costs are appraisals, credit report fees and attorney fees, etc. "Pre-paid items" are items which recur over time; such as property taxes and homeowners insurance. A lender makes an attempt to estimate the amount of non-recurring closing costs and prepaid items on the Good Faith Estimate which they must issue to the borrower within three days of receiving a home loan application.

RESPA states that as a home buyer, you have the legal right to request a copy of the HUD-1 Settlement Statement 24 hours before your closing is scheduled. The HUD-1 represents actual closing costs, breaking down which items are to be paid by the buyer and those by the seller. Its a good idea to review both your GFE and the HUD-1 before your closing so you can compare the estimated costs to the actual costs before you finalize your transaction.

Business Marketing That Avoids The "Fight or Flight" Response ...

fight or flight marketing Fight or Flight Business Marketing

I want to let you into a secret. But promise that you won?t tell anyone else, OK? Thanks.

Marketing your business isn?t actually that difficult. In fact, it?s pretty easy. It?s the snake-oil selling ?gurus?, ?experts? and ?consultants? out there that trick you into thinking that it?s difficult.

Contrary to what the charlatans tell you marketing a business isn?t about fluff, deception, manipulation, or even money. It?s not about dazzling websites, mega-budget videos, or interruptive marketing, or jargon, or buzzwords. It?s not even about content marketing, or social media.

It?s about the way we feel.

It?s about the way that we, as consumers, feel in response to stimuli. If the stimulation is positive ? happiness, joy, pride, hope, etc. then we are predisposed to pay more attention to it. If, however, our reaction is negative ? anger, hatred, regret and so on ? well, you get the idea.

All of this comes from primeval times, when being able to quickly differentiate between things that are safe (e.g. an apple ) from things that are not (e.g. a saber-toothed tiger) had far bigger implications than whether you?ve wasted money buying the wrong brand of soap powder.

Fight or Flight Business Marketing

Coined by Walter Cannon, a physiologist from Harvard, the ?Fight or Flight? response is a intuitive safeguard built into a primitive area of our brains (the hypothalamus, since you asked) designed to help prevent early Homo Sapiens from killing themselves off and making the species extinct before they had the chance to build pyramids, circumnavigate the globe, or design iPhones.

The process happens in a split-second, and is triggered based upon both obvious and subtle clues picked-up by our senses. When invoked, the Fight or Flight response puts us on Red Alert. It causes us to perceive almost anything as a potential threat. We trust nothing and no-one. It?s like we?ve all become TSA officers. In such a heightened state, we?re clearly not in the mood to buy your brand of fabric softener ? no matter what it smells like.

OK, so smelling the bovine excrement while watching a bad TV ad isn?t going to make most people lose it and go postal. But every time a potential customer visits your website, speaks with your sales rep, or reads your Twitter update their brain is doing the same thing. They?re trying to figure out ? in a split-second ? whether your marketing is saying that you?re someone that they can trust, or someone who?s after their money.

?But We?re Good Guys! Anyone Can See That!?

Most business owners are oblivious to how their company is perceived. They think it?s obvious to everyone around how their product / service is better, how their customer service is better, and that customers who bought from the competition were clearly unaware of this.

But guess what? It wasn?t obvious to the customer. They were still trying to work out why your product cost more than the others. They were trying to navigate around your clunky website, looking at your amateurish logo, reading your ineffectual marketing collateral and speaking with your argumentative sales rep who seemed to be suffering from chronic halitosis.

You?re fighting a losing battle. By the time you give your pitch, Fight or Flight has kicked-in and you?re on a hiding to nothing. With luck you?ll be able to turn the situation around with your convincing presentation, client preparation and knock-em-dead product demo. But more likely than not you?ll be going back to the office wondering why they didn?t ?get? what you?re about.

Keeping It Real

I?m not saying that the secret to effective business marketing is simply to be everyone?s buddy ? although that certainly wouldn?t hurt. Presenting an approachable, genuine brand to prospects can only help create and nurture a feeling of trust and comfort.

It?s more about presenting everything that your customer sees in ways that underline reassurance. Actions and behaviors that present a rich and consistent experience, and that helps them understand (at a deep, almost subconscious level) that you?re unique among your competitors, and that your company is obviously their best choice. Not because that?s what you say. But because that?s how you behave.

So where does your company fit?

The sad fact is that the vast majority of companies aren?t very good at producing marketing experiences that pass the Fight or Flight test. I?ll go as far as to say that I?m betting that your company is one of them. That doesn?t mean that you?re not making money, growing and (as one ?almost client? said to me today ?we have no shortage of product interest?). It?s less about how many buy, as about how many walk away.

The fix is right in front of you: Talk to the ones that got away.

You need to take the corporate hat off and look with genuine objectivity. Sure, your existing customers are going to tell you that you?re great and the sun shines out of your tushy. But what about the prospects that you lost? What was it about their buying experience that made them go elsewhere?

Maybe your business is thriving. Maybe it?s struggling. Maybe it?s somewhere in between. But ten will get you five that you could better express your business value, using your customer?s own vocabulary, in ways that they find most emotionally assuring.

Take Bill Murray's Tour of Moonrise Kingdom

Moonrise Kingdom Behind the Scenes Bill Murray

After debuting at Cannes, Wes Anderson's latest offering Moonrise Kingdom hits limited release in New York and Los Angeles this week. You've seen the twee snippets previewing the tale of young puppy love in flight, circa 1965. You've pored over the visual charm assault that is its poster. Now let co-star Bill Murray be your guide ? wearing patchwork madras pants, with a little bit o' rum in his belly ? through the New England set of Moonrise Kingdom.

Among Murray's observational insights: Anderson's characters wear their pants flooded because that's how the director dresses himself! It's all clicking into place. "He likes everyone in the film to wear their pants really short to look just a little bit like the kind of person you'd like to mug." Wes Anderson Chic, whittled down to its base elements.

Moonrise Kingdom is really quite lovely and charming and sweet, but then I'm a sucker for Wes Anderson and angsty adolescents and little girls who listen to Francoise Hardy. The synopsis:

Set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965, Moonrise Kingdom tells the story of two twelve-year-olds who fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away together into the wilderness. As various authorities try to hunt them down, a violent storm is brewing off-shore -- and the peaceful island community is turned upside down in more ways than anyone can handle. Bruce Willis plays the local sheriff. Edward Norton is a Khaki Scout troop leader. Bill Murray and Frances McDormand portray the young girl's parents. The cast also includes Tilda Swinton, Jason Schwartzman, and Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward as the boy and girl.
